In the coming weeks, watch this space for “Read & _________,” a place to share your thoughts, experiences, inspirations, and ideas about the book with other readers. Where does American Earth take you? Where will you take it? Reading is just the beginning.
Here are a few ideas for how you might join the conversation:
- Take American Earth on your next camping trip or hike, and post your videos or photos to this space.
- Read American Earth in your book club or campus environmental group, and share the most interesting discussion points.
- Tell us how you used American Earth in the classroom.
- Write an essay about the environmental writer who has most inspired you.
Send us your videos, photos, essays, book-club experiences, poems, drawings, and the five readers who submit the most original and interesting responses by June 1, 2008 will receive a free copy of American Earth signed by Bill McKibben. The five winning entries will be selected by the editorial staff of The Library of America. Stay tuned for more details!
